NVIDIA GeForce 7300 with DVI cable

Post#1 by kata930 » 06 Aug 2013, 11:43

I'm using Porteus v1.10 with my old PC.

When I use analog VGA cable, Porteus starts without any problem.

But when I use DVI(Digital Visual Interface), Porteus cannot start X-Window.

What's wrong ?

Should I add "vga-detect" cheatcode, and add nVidia video drivers ?

Please advise!

hi Kata930,

i think you are referring to v1.1 and it was released long time ago so i would suggest you upgrading to 2.1 which has much newer kernel.
there is no harm to try nVidia driver though. if you are not sure which nVidia driver to choose then please download them all to /optional folder and use 'vga_detect' cheatcode.
