Sound not working

I have Porteus v5.01 KDE5 installed on my old chromebook.

I have only "Dummy Audio" as an audio device and neither the built-in speakers or 3.5mm jack headphones show up.

Audio works on LUbuntu

Does anyone have any recomendations on how to fix this?

Some system details:

Nothing specific, but from this distance with a WAG, be sure you are playing audio when you check the audio control - at least on my chromebox it is "dummy" until something is playing. Just in case..

And, check the Volume Control > Configuration tab. On some hardware, I've had to manually change it myself from data/hdmi out to an analog setting like analog-stereo-duplex. One cheap piece of gear always gets the auto-detection wrong, so with this so I have to change the Config manually.

Oh wow, just ran into this on an Intel NUC (NUC6ayh model) with 5.01 of Porteus, PorteuX, and Nemesis! No cards are detected.

I just liberated it from an old Win10 install (on a 5400rpm drive!), and other bootable linux finds it. Surprising. Seems to be just limited to this one in my pile. I'll keep looking for model-specific issue - but across all three in the Port* family? Weird. Inxi shows no cards, aplay -l find nothing. I'll dig.

Not a showstopper since I can always use a usb<>audio dongle for my earbuds, but this has me puzzled! :%)
