need help with sound issue on Acer Chrome book CB3-111

this is the output of pulseaudio -v :

in pavucontrol I see the sound bar mooving when music is playing but no sound from the speekers or headphones.

any idea ??

In XfCE, I have to click on the "Volume" icon in the panel, select "Audio mixer", select "Output devices" and click the "set as fallback" icon (it is a round icon to the right of the lock icon with a "checkmark" in the centre, similar to this : ✓ and this ● combined) [the icon is not coloured]

Just play some sound (e.g. a mp3 or a video with sound) and click for all available "Output devices" the "set as fallback" icon. When you click fallback icon for the correct output device, the sound should be turned on.

At least for me it works that way.

Ah, one thing you can check if the computer is modern and see the vu meters moving but no sound...

Launch the Mixer, and check the Configuration Profile. Sometimes I've seen it default to one of the hdmi/digital profiles, and changing it to one of the ANALOG profiles gets it working if you are listening to an analog audio output jack.
