Intel HD Graphics 520 driver with OpenGL support

New features which should be implemented in Porteus; suggestions are welcome. All questions or problems with testing releases (alpha, beta, or rc) should go in their relevant thread here, rather than the Bug Reports section.

Hi kalo86

These pages may be worth reading:

https://linuxreviews.org/Intel_graphics
https://linuxreviews.org/Intel_Iris

mesa 20
https://packages.slackware.com/?r=slack ... 6_64-1.txz

Q:
Does the software work with (e.g.) Ubuntu?
If yes, which driver/mesa is used?

Intel HD Graphics 520 driver with OpenGL support

Post#17 by kalo86 » 06 Jun 2020, 08:01

Hi Donald,

I use the software on Windows 10 x64 and the OpenGL version is 4.5. On Porteus the Mesa driver loads automatically the OpenGL 3.2 and the software does not show any graphic environment of the CAD model. The GUI is correctly loaded in any case (even when I override the OpenGL version with 4.5).

Days ago I tried converting a Mesa20 module from txz to xzm and at reboot Porteus is not starting anymore :sorry:

I'm going to read and study the provided links.

Thank you very much for the support!

Note that mesa 20 needs the llvm runtime, whereas <20 did not.

Yes, for that reason I decided to stop investigating on the OpenGL stuff. Too much complicated :fool:
