porteus 4.0 is sent with gcc-7.3.0
usm proposal is gcc-gfortran-5.3.0 or 5.5.0
is it a good choice or better use gcc-gfortran-7.3.0 I can find in slackware-current
Thanks to any advice

i would use the slackware current version since it requires gcc.. (hopefully there haven't been any incompatible changes since release)
tip: you can use: # getpkg gcc-fortran command which will download the package directly from slackware current repo..

Hello, my problem is similar in that I need gcc-gfortran too, but slackware-current has now switched to gcc 8.1.1, so getpkg gcc-gfortran installs version 8.1.1. I cannot found the gcc-gfortran 7.3.0 slackware packages anywhere, all slackware mirrors I visited store gcc 8.1.1 and gcc 7.3.0 for slackware has vanished from Internet. How to solve this? Is there a snapshot of slackware with gcc 7.3.0 somewhere? Or should I make a custom 05-devel module with gcc-8.1.1? Any tip will be appreciated.
