Hello,

as a noob in Linux, i installed version 3.1 instead of 3.2, i think this should not happen and can be improved.

Here is how i proceed:
1. http://www.porteus.org / Download / Desktop edition
2. find text: "You can download the ISO and other files for the desktop edition from any of our mirrors here." and clicked on "here" to be taken to http://porteus.org/porteus-mirrors.txt
3. copied first link "http://ftp.vim.org/ftp/os/Linux/distr/porteus/" to the browser address bar
4. see three dirs:
i486/
i586/
x86_64/
I have low RAM old PC so i was looking for 32 bit, so i excluded x86_64, somewhere i read 486 is right, so i clicked it and then clicked "current" directory and DLed Porteus-XFCE-v3.1-i486.iso

I think it would be good if on the download instructions are more noob friendly so i better know which .iso / which "architecture" i need to choose.

You have an old PC, so I guess there will be the incentive to profit from Porteus. Please be patient and read the posts in the Newbie section: [STICKY] Newcomer, newbie, links, commands to porteus linux and Starting out in Porteus 3.2.2 (A Guide). Do not hesitate to ask in Newbie Questions, should anything not be clear to you.

As for the points you have raised, am sure someone better qualified than myself will respond. :)

Thanks. The i486 folder will soon be removed. Sorry for the confusion.
