Ok, understand the Manage Print browser connection. Trying to figure out why a webpage won't print and see that the CUPS "window" is another browser tab.
The Printing Troubleshooter says I have to "Enable the 'Publish shared printers connected to this system' option in the server settings using the printing administration tool". Never had to do that before that I recall, and not seeing how to do it now.

Ed_P, can you say how to get this online report in xreader?
Using firefox I went to the site, credit card, produced report, pdf format, I clicked on the link, had the option to download or view, I chose view, with default app, which opened report in xreader. I then chose to print it which seemed to work but printer never started printing.
Using Firefox I go to the site, produce report, it opens in a small Firefox window, I click on the Firefox print option and it prints. I click on the download option and then the view option and it opens in the default app Xreader, I select the print option and it prints.
But in the Saved Changes mode it doesn't print. Any suggestions on how I delete the old printer config files?
I suspect /home/guest/.hplip/hplip.conf and /etc/cups/printers.conf will play a role.
-edit-
Yup, the new printers.conf file solved the problem.
