If you have some troubles with glib schemas - need to rename 007- to 07- of printing modules.

I reproduced this. If you don't have activated browser - it runs Browser Selection. It's normal.

After Print Settings is done Manage Print brings up Administration CUPS 2.2.12
It's normal too, because:

Code: Select all

Manage Printing = CUPS Web Interface
Print Settings = system-config-printer
ncmprhnsbl, I did a separation for openbox.
Thanks for the info

CUPS 2.3.0 released https://www.cups.org/

Maybe tomorrow, when Slackware will update cups, I will publish a new version of 07-printing module.

Hardly "normal", more like "insane". Printing and Browsering are totally unrelated.

Ok, understand the Manage Print browser connection. Trying to figure out why a webpage won't print and see that the CUPS "window" is another browser tab. :happy62:

The Printing Troubleshooter says I have to "Enable the 'Publish shared printers connected to this system' option in the server settings using the printing administration tool". Never had to do that before that I recall, and not seeing how to do it now.

07-printing-x86_64-2019-08-26.xzm works with Cinnamon. :good: After browser activated. :happy62:

Problem using Cinnnamon's xreader to print an online report. Printer doesn't respond.

Code: Select all

Using firefox I went to the site, credit card, produced report, pdf format, I clicked on the link, had the option to download or view, I chose view, with default app, which opened report in xreader. I then chose to print it which seemed to work but printer never started printing.

Ok, update.

0901 version.
Jinnamon (Cinnamon 4.2.3 for Porteus 5.0rc1 (Post by Ed_P #73613)
Firefox
Always fresh mode

Using Firefox I go to the site, produce report, it opens in a small Firefox window, I click on the Firefox print option and it prints. I click on the download option and then the view option and it opens in the default app Xreader, I select the print option and it prints.

:good:

But in the Saved Changes mode it doesn't print. Any suggestions on how I delete the old printer config files? :D

I suspect /home/guest/.hplip/hplip.conf and /etc/cups/printers.conf will play a role. :happy62:

-edit-

Yup, the new printers.conf file solved the problem. :Yahoo!:
