What language do you speak?

New features which should be implemented in Porteus; suggestions are welcome. All questions or problems with testing releases (alpha, beta, or rc) should go in their relevant thread here, rather than the Bug Reports section.

What language do you speak?

Post#1 by brokenman » 15 Jun 2011, 00:42

If you would like to assist with any translations from english to your native tongue, please post here the languages (other than english) that you speak.

I would like to rewrite the language selection tool (to start with) into a few other languages so non english speakers can use it with more ease. All that would be required is to translate a text fiel from english into your language.

I'll start:
Portuguese (Br)
Chinese (Manadarin)

I speak spanish besides english.
Which text file do I translate?
I'll try to do my best.

Hare lo mejor que pueda. Y creo que hay varios compañeros que pueden ayudar como wread, gusterrapolis si esta con nosotros, etc. Lo grandioso es que hay personas del todo el mundo que hablan español y estan dispuestos a ayudar.

My mother language is Spanish and I can help with Spanish texts, of course.
Besides, I speak and write fluently German (I made my graduate studies in Germany), but there are many Germans in the P. C. that can do it as native language!

Spanish,
German.

:good:
Porteus is proud of the FASTEST KDE ever made.....(take akonadi, nepomuk and soprano out and you will have a decent OS).

no way...... - no additional features after rc3!
we must stop at some point and release 1.0

translations of porteus scripts must go for 1.1 - sorry.

(i'm glad that you people want to contribute here but i want to get my summer back!)
Please add [Solved] to your thread title if the solution was found.

I hear you there! I am looking forward to a break too. :Yahoo!:

I should have added that this is not intended for v1.0 ... i am just putting feelers out to see if this is possible for a later release.

English. In the computing world of language speaking, C/Obj-C, HTML/XML, Java (to an extent), bash, DOS, and a little bit of Forth (PalmOS and OpenFirmware use some of that) on the side. :D

Really wish it went beyond that. :)

Other than English, I speak some broken french (trust me -- you don't want me to be doing translations to french!), but I am also nearly fluent in ebonics.

What'chu talkin bout? Yeeeeaaaaah Boi!
Please take a look at our online documentation, here. Suggestions are welcome!

Amen to that! We are now past the peak of Summer (longest day). No day is ever long enough when you do
software Development properly on more than a few small projects!

Have a good one fanthom. With most of the major functional Bugs out of Porteus x86_64 @1.0 Final
I'll enjoy working from a super-fast 64bit environment that does my 4+ Year Old AMD X2 Box some justice.

I've just taken two weeks leave strategically, and can kick back to enjoy Summer Music Festivals
and hanging out with non geek arty friends. Hope you get to do something equally recreational.

Thanks for all the Hard Work on this project

Thanks Feng.

Yes Manadarin, it has been a long time ... and only pinyin. It looks like we have around 7 or 8 language covered so far. Great stuff!
