UI bugs that need fixed

KDE has a few bugs that need to be fixed. Since everyone is talking suggestions to KDE and LXDE, which is great, but this post didn't quite belong there. And others talk of boot scripts, installation, and other bugs--so the only place I thought this would fit is here.

Sleep mode works, but on wake, the session manager crashes, which forces me to do a Ctrl+Alt+F1, login, then a "killall kdm" to restart the K session manager. The other thing is that the System Settings link does not launch on my computer. The mouse cursor bounces, but System Settings does not initialize.

Please take note. Again, I hate to point all this out, but it'd be absolutely sweet to be as close to bug-free as we can. :)

These bugs are from KDE Environment and not from Porteus OS.

Bugs from the KDE environment are in a way, Porteus bugs, indirectly--because if you think of it logically, KDE is part of Porteus. But, then again, I believe you are right. Note I called the post's title "UI bugs" and not "Porteus bugs", because if we were working on Windows, we wouldn't call "Aero" bugs Windows bugs, so I can see where you are right in this...

KDE Environment is totally indepedent of Porteus. That's why , We have two environment on Porteus LXDE and KDE. You can add an environment same TinyDesktop (thanks crashman).

If there are any bugs with a development version , you need to report the bug on the thread when your developement version is.

"The other thing is that the System Settings link does not launch on my computer. The mouse cursor bounces, but System Settings does not initialize."
tried on at least 3 PC's and worked fine. please try "systemsettings" command in konsole and check the output.

Is this 32-bit or 64-bit? both?

Not sure if a screenshot is possible... but I will certainly try if it brings us closer to fixing a bug!

I have only tested on 64-bit, where this occurs. I can also check out the latest nightly for the 32-bit/i486 edition and see what comes of it.

Here's some additional information: System Settings does not work only after waking from sleep--otherwise, it works. Sleep mode does work, but on wake, that is when I have to "reset" the session manager as I have described--so I guess, in a way, sleep does not totally work.

@fanthom: Thank you for your encouragement! *Please* do not remove the additional drivers! They help some things work very well (for instance, my sound and wireless work!)

Thanks for the input, everyone! :)
