My memory is a little hazy from this version of PPM but it looks as though this particular package is source code and requires building. PPM will only convert existing 'packages' that are prebuilt. Salix and Chakra have been dropped from the next version of PPM until i can do some more research for 100% success.

Thanks for the report.

This is sad news. But if they are to be brought back, good news. How are we doing on the debian side?

I was originally designing this for the Porteus v2.0 and expected to have much more time. We will now include it in the next official release as i think it works a little better than the existing PPM. In light of this sudden inclusion some of the functionality will remain disabled (debian neing one) until i can finish the code. The automatic/manual update will notify users when the debian part has been finished and they can update.

This is also true for the porteus installer, which will lack the partition manager until i can finish it. This doesn'tt have an update function so may just be released with full functionality for v2. At the moment users will need to have a pre prepared partition.

I apologize for stripping PPM of some of it's functionality ... but the task is mammoth and i want to take my time and ensure it all works nicely. The existing PPM for v1.0 should still function after the next release.

I agree with you as we must have a reliable installer. Because this should one of first apps used on Porteus. So it should be perfect! :)

One bug i found is that the Porteus-v1.1 final release shipped PPM with a problem. It will not recognize your 'porteus' directory correctly because it was relying on an environment variable that was removed. My bad. This means if you use the 'rootcopy' option you will get a message that the rootcopy directory could not be found. You can use the 'edit config' files option to add the path to your porteus folder under: PORTEUS

I knew i put that edit function in there for a reason. My apologees and this will be addressed in the next ppm update.
