Which booloader for porteus installer?

What should be the selected bootloader for porteus installer? Can you provide you bootloader of choice, and the pros and cons for your choice? Comparative considerations against other booloaders would be appreciated.

i guess we are limited to syslinux unless we decide to drop windows installer completely. having different installer for windows (syslinux/grub4dos) and linux (GRUB/GRUB2) is rather not an option as would cause unnecessary confusion.

i'm happy with syslinux, the only missing feature is the possibility of loading kernel from other partition like GRUB does and maybe XFS support (not sure if anybody uses reiserfs these days).

This is a straighforward answer.

I used to install from linux /boot/bootinst.sh for usb only, though I knew about /boot/bootinst.bat from a very far past. It just slip off my mind. Especially that I resort to grub legacy for hdd and now once and a while to grub2. Grub legacy seems so easy to modify and to understand. But maybe it is a question of familiarity with syslinux.

Do you use syslinux for you hdd?

In addition, I just realised that grub2 and porteus will not hold on the same partition. Grub2 does not boot porteus unless there are the necessary fake linux structure folders amongst which /etc, amongst others.
