Wishlist for porteus 3.1

New features which should be implemented in Porteus; suggestions are welcome. All questions or problems with testing releases (alpha, beta, or rc) should go in their relevant thread here, rather than the Bug Reports section.

or maybe you meant that you dont want any of your details to be processed by PayPal at all?
Thats the point. I dont trust paypal - and so i will never use it.
Thanks for the incredible porteus.

@Blaze, StefanO
i'm sorry but we have decided to stick to PayPal only as it's the most popular payment method. banks charge way too much for international transfers and we dont want to help them.

maybe you could donate to some other opensource projects/applications which are accepting alternative payment methods and which we are using directly in porteus?

thank you

Hi fanthom.
Do you plan to add this repo https://slackonly.com/pub/packages/ in USM?

Looks like an interesting repository. Any idea who maintains it?

My main concerns with adding new repositories are:

1) Will all packages be resolved
2) Will the repo still be around in 1 year

I will keep an eye on this repo for a while. Thanks.

Hi guys...

My name is Panagiotis Nikolaou and i am the maintainer of slackonly.com.
I have starting this repo one year ago and i plan to keep updated for years!
At the start i make all packages manual used slackbuilds from SBo but one day
a very smart guy he made a brilliant tool: slackrepo and now is more easy
to me to make more packages and updated often...
Μy awful English discouraged me to write my blog but I promise as soon as
I find time to update my blog with more information... :)

Thanks for posting. I just sent you an email regarding adding your repository to our package manager. It will require setting up rsync on your server. Also I just checked and the maximum download speed I can get from your server is around 160Kb per second.

Hi Panagiotis,

Thanks for posting. Actually your english is very good. I encourage you to start your blog. Don't be worried about your english.

@Community
After speaking with Panagiotis I have decided to add this repo to USM. It has lasted 12 months and the maintainer is quick to respond. After he sets up rsync I will add it to our database. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hi guys and thank you for your kind words!

My repo updated every week immediate after public update of slackbuilds.
(except from i am being away from my home and this is very rare) :roll:

Some caveats is: this packages is building in stable Slackware (with latest patches apply)
and some times few of that is not working at current...
I have updated my blog recently (and i plan to update frequently) with more information
about how building my packages and i am glad if this repo helping with any way other people.

@brokenman: rsync is up and ready....
