IKR! I just so hope that upcoming 25.0 will at least similar stable... when we already have the issues of hacking one or the other plug in... (see above)Bogomips wrote:PM24.7.2 proved surprisingly stable. Have nvidia graphics card, as you know, and normally mozilla and other browsers tend to crash nouveau driver after a few minutes, but PM24.7.2 went quite a few minutes and did not crash nouveau. Btw was on a barebones kde system. So no outstanding dependencies.
Seems I misread your post, then, cause as I quoted you wrote about the latest 24.x version.Bogomips wrote:Looks like you did not get my message of yesterday Been using 25.0 since yesterday.
So far I saw no reason for using Greasemonkey, but when the video player is so much better (system load wise) than flash plugin, I might check it out...Bogomips wrote:Greasemonkey I've been able to plug in. But what I would really like to get is the latest plug-in to stop YouTube autoplay.
Indeed checks out. Found significantly less drain on memory, and YT autoplay playlist headache was somewhat reduced.Rava wrote:the video player is so much better (system load wise) than flash plugin, I might check it out...
That point came to notice when changing to bubble gtk theme. Whereas with 24.7.2 noticeable delay in opening menu items, seemed to be no difference in response times between bubble and raleigh gtk themes for 25.0Rava wrote:updated PM to 25.0... and changed no plugins whatsoever, but indeed, it is - amazing enough - quicker than 24.7.2.
Nope, not used any nightly in many years...phhpro wrote:@rava: you didn't fetch a nightly, did you?
You mean alternative to the Flash Video Downloader?phhpro wrote:a) there are plenty of alternatives to the extension you mentioned
Yeah, yeah we all know that FF is a bloated blundering elephant, but in all this SeaMonkey, from Mozilla, doesn't get a look in. Unfortunately until devs come up with driver for nvidia cards, Mozilla is crashing nouveau, although PM proving surprisingly resilient for Mozilla, crashing only on start up, and so far just a handful of times REISUB required.phhpro wrote:I used to like FFX, but it's becoming increasingly bloated, and thus have dropped it completely in favour of PM some time ago; and since Iceweasel had recently been crash-bumped from 24 up to 31 it's no longer an option.
Finally got round today to installing the usual download addons. Video Download Helper no problems.phhpro wrote:@rava: ... I'd like to think feeding something like flash download into the search field on the add-ons page will provide a whole battery of them.
No point. They've finally released docs to OpenSource. Just remains to wait for drivers to be modified on basis of that documentation.phhpro wrote:@bogomips:... Telling from memory, I recall plenty of similar posts with Nvidia being the subject. Perhaps filing a ticket directly with them might prove helpful?
