usm gui is nice, sBo not supported?
It is supported in the CLI, and I have included it in the GUI but it is disabled. Once finished I will unlock it and push an update.
Usm -u all does not sync with the repositories.
The slacky mirror is not responding today (bad timing) so I have updated to fix it. Please rebuild your Porteus ISO or download the latest usm package from here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/usm/fil ... rce=navbar
when I try Porteus-MATE-v3.0-i486.iso I don't see my partitions?
I don't understand. Do you mean in the file manager?
(engrampa:7571): GLib-GIO-ERROR **: Settings schema 'org.mate.engrampa.listing' is not installed
The schema file was not generated for this package. Checking it out now.

EDIT: I just built an ISO usin the wizard (MATE-v3.0-x86_64) and engrampa is working. Please try running: sh /opt/porteus-scripts/xorg/update-cache
to see if the schema gets generated.

I had no success with installer gui: nothing happens.
I installed manually.
usm cli does not work, so does usm gui, but once usm updated (by GUI), one can use both.

LXDE Usm
XFCE Usm
Mate Porteus Package Manager ??? (doesn't start)
RazorQT Usm
KDE Porteus Package Manager but starts usm

All versions of usm don't update correctly and you can only click update once a session.
And porteus 3.0 is just released but Porteus Updater saids there are 3 updates/patches from last year available. That can't be right..

when choosing timezone, with webwizard, shouldn't utc be assumed? and included in cheatcode?
we have decided to stick to localtime as porteus may be booted on PCs with Windoze installed and would mess the clock (got few reports for that already). unix only guys will have to add 'utc' cheat themselves.
probably wizard could be updated to include question about utc/localtime

I had no success with installer gui: nothing happens.
please share on which desktop it does not work

KDE Porteus Package Manager but starts usm
that's perfectly correct - usm is our package manager now :)

I would have thought by now the i945 would be supported with its own proper set, but nope, still i915.
i915 supports all latest Intel generations. there is no such driver as i945 or i965 (actually i965 is there but for 3D/OpenGL)

Even with this micro dish, booting takes a good while longer then it did in 2.1 with plenty of extra stuff to load. What happened?
please post xpsinfo raport

thanks guys
Please add [Solved] to your thread title if the solution was found.

What bugs me most is the same issue as with 2.1: botting into a black screen. I would have thought by now the i945 would be supported with its own proper set, but nope, still i915

Strange, I have the i945, using the i915 driver.....no issues at all, boots right into the desktop @1024x600 on my EeePC. I did have a problem with another distro, but 'nomodeset' fixed it.

Boot and shutdown is, if anything, faster than 2.1

Engrampa is now working, don't know why as it didn't with the update cache command. I did install mate backgrounds but they don't contain the missing file.

@laikexpert
That is expected behaviour for caja. It has always been like that. When you click on 'Computer' you are looking at the DRIVE.
To see the file system (partitions) click on 'File System' and then /mnt

usm cli does not work, so does usm gui, but once usm updated (by GUI), one can use both.
This is fixed in web wizard now.

All versions of usm don't update correctly and you can only click update once a session.
Please rebuild ISO via web wizard or download latest USM package from sourceforge.

And porteus 3.0 is just released but Porteus Updater saids there are 3 updates/patches from last year available. That can't be right.
Thanks. Seems this has been addressed now.

Engrampa is now working, don't know why as it didn't with the update cache command.
Ok. I was able to reproduce the error some time ago but seems addressed now.
