Porteus ARM (ARMedSlack) Fork ?

Hey all,

I am currently geting a new Habey MITX 6500 Sample sent to me.

I have a project in mind to use the ARM with a Slackware and have an x86 box plugged in running Slackware to do Eclipse IDE and other x86 type stuff (Blender, GIMP, Inkscape).

I will bang my head until it hurts to have both Slackware's talking to each-other.

But life would be so much better if Porteus had an ARM version already.

I still think Porteus is the best thing since Austrian Rotisserie Chicken to be born!

If there were a Porteus ARM already, I assure you my Nexus 7 would have it. My C7 Chromebook would be running Porteus if my Stick didnt drown in a deluge here in Hilo.

Anyway, if anyone is doing Slackware on ARM Freescale stuff and wants to share any ideas, I am all ears. Not the greatest wizbang yet with all this stuff. If there is any suggestions on how I can help Porteus get an ARM side going, I am eager to try.

I dig Porteus!

Rock on all!

I know Ahau was playing with getting arm packages running on Porteus in what free time he has. I also found that ponce has been poking around in this department:

Thanks for the information!

I should have the MITX 6500 in the mail the 26th.

Just slapped a nice Slackware64 Current on the Acer Extensa.

May the Source be with us all!

It will all work, with a little work.

Cheers!

I received my MITX-6500 from Habey.

Hope I did not zap it already admiring it (Static)?

I am uploading the CD that came with it. Has tools and manuals for ARM QT, Ubuntu-Lucid, Android.

Anyone can email me at wildegeist[AT]gmail[DOT]com and I will add you to the "Share" thing in Google Drive.

My goal is to get a good Slackware and FreeBSD to ride on the beast. Porteus would be even better!

Personally I have to start with the basics. Never done this before. In real life I mean. Been doing it since Moses in my dreams!

Tschus!
