Utorrent ?

I understand that the release size of porteus is desired to be under or around 300MB but I (I know others would too) would love to see Utorrent added to the collection. I know people are just going to tell me to use uget or transmission but those two programs simply do not offer the efficiency of utorrent. Uget is too complicated and has a slow response to peers and for some reason is now asking me for a username and login and it never did that before and transmission just freezes and exits itself for no reason at all at any random time it wants to. This is not a hardware or device malfunction on my end, I have noticed these programs do the same thing on my friends PC and laptop as well. Utorrent could easily go above and beyond the ability of these two.

So bottom line is..... Can we get utorrent added to the pack manager ?

rather not as utorrent is a windows software and requires wine to run.

download wine from here:
http://repository.slacky.eu/slackware-1 ... 86-1sl.txz
convert it to xzm and activate.
now you can download utorrent and install it with "wine utorrent.exe" command.

if you are using 64bit porteus version then you will also need compat32-libraries from here:
http://ponce.cc/porteus/x86_64/packages ... 4-2ftm.xzm

Cheers

You can use slackyd to get wine. You will need an internet connection. The first step is update the slackyd database.

Open a console

slackyd -u
slackyd -g wine-1.3.34-i486-1sl

Answer 'y' to download and also get any dependencies. They will be downloaded to /var/slackyd and you can convert them to modules using: txz22xzm /var/slackyd/package-name.txz /var/slackyd/package-name.xzm
