Where can I find a valid XZM for Midnight Commander for 32bit?

Post#1 by glestwid » 28 Oct 2018, 21:36

Hi,

I am looking for a ready instance of XZM for Midnight Commander but can't seem to find it. Who knows where I can get it, preferable for 32bit CPU and with all libs included?

USM seems to have a couple of versions, at least for 64 bit.

Code: Select all

guest@porteus:~$ su
Password:
root@porteus:/home/guest# usm -i commander

 The following items were found.
 Choose an number to confirm.
 ctrl+c to quit

1) gnome-commander-1.4.3-x86_64-1_slonly.txz
2) mucommander-0.9.0-noarch-1_slonly.txz
#?
The USM gui should give more information. And choose the option to resolve dependencies.

Isn't mc already installed?

guest@porteus:~$ ls /var/log/packages | grep -i mc
mc-4.8.16-i586-2
.........

guest@porteus:~$ mc

Yep, it is .... at least in XFCE.

Hi,

I have another question regarding MC, but it seems to be quite similar to that one. How can I upgrade the existing instance of MC in my 32bit Porteus USB stick ?

What should I enter in the "Search" box in USM?

USM has a bit of a problem with short search terms like mc
here's a web based workaround: http://slakfinder.org/index.php?act=sea ... e=#results

New issue has come. I downloaded mc-4.8.22-i586-1.txz, converted it to an XZM , deployed the XZM, but when I started MC then I got a weird message:
GLIBC_2.28 not found
How can I download all necessary components into one XZM file?
