Quake 1

Post#1 by ztrapl » 24 Mar 2015, 19:54

Hello :)

Today we are sending a legendary game Quake 1
This is a shareware version.
If you own the full version of the game and copy the files PAK0.PAK and PAK1.PAK directory /usr/share/games/darkplaces/id1/

DarkPlaces is a gameplay modification and a source port engine based on the computer game Quake. It adds enhanced network code, with asynchronous delta compression, a built in server browser,real-time lighting, and bump mapping. It makes use of the OpenGL. Shading Language and supports Ogg Vorbis.

Nice but illegal. =@
You have to cope alone. What about trying Google.

I do not know where the problem is.
This game is tested in KDE4 Porteus 3.1 32bit not 64bit.
Try running the game in a terminal command darklaces-glx or darkplaces-sdl.
There will see the missing dependencies.

I'm glad I could help and module works.
If you are interested in Quake 3, look here: http://www.slax.org/en/modules.php?deta ... gory=games
Downloaded from the distribution Slax modules just rename from sb to xzm.
So far it works. :)

im interested in all games including quake 3

cant start quake 3, i have sdl and i downloaded the appropriate 64 bit version of quake 3
dont know whats the problem

Image

clicking on the quake3 icon in the applications menu does nothing

edit 1:
oh, i got it, i didnt read the description, it requires some files, i will post results tomorrow, now its too late for hacking

edit 2:
works prefectly after all required adjustments, seemingly 60 fps even on a single core celeron notebook pc, good game
btw 'ioquake3.x86_64' and './ioquake3.x86_64' are different commands, in the screenshot above i used the wrong command

You probably have an error in line 5.
No guest@porteus:/usr/share/games/quake3 ioquake3.x86_64
Use the command guest@porteus:/usr/share/games/quake3 ./ioquake3.x86_64
Beware of the space before ./ioquake3.x86_64.

Next, you write clicking on the quake3 icon in the applications menu does nothing
You followed the instructions where you have copied the file pak0.pk3
http://www.slax.org/en/modules.php?deta ... gory=games
If Yes, so I see no reason why this game is not working.
As I already wrote I cannot solve the problem now.
On my second laptop x86_64 left video card.

I'm sorry. Perhaps this will help.
