I made these modules since I wanted a Linux viewing solution for files like such
Code: Select all
$ file 00000003
00000003: DICOM medical imaging data
Obviously, you need DICOM medical imaging data files to have use for these modules. In my case, I have 2 ISO-CDs with CT images on them. Ask your doctor if current CT or X-ray that got made is digital already (most probably it is when it is halfway current) and if you can have a CD-ISO for yourself.
More info on that on wikipedia:

and by the The National Center for Biotechnology Information ("National" as in: USA) here: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC61235/Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) is the standard for the communication and management of medical imaging information and related data. DICOM is most commonly used for storing and transmitting medical images enabling the integration of medical imaging devices such as scanners, servers, workstations, printers, network hardware, and picture archiving and communication systems (PACS) from multiple manufacturers. It has been widely adopted by hospitals and is making inroads into smaller applications such as dentists' and doctors' offices.
DICOM files can be exchanged between two entities that are capable of receiving image and patient data in DICOM format. The different devices come with DICOM Conformance Statements which state which DICOM classes they support. The standard includes a file format definition and a network communications protocol that uses TCP/IP to communicate between systems.

xmedcon - MedCon with GUI for the X Window System
SYNOPSIS
xmedcon [options] [-f <file>]
or
xmedcon [--help | <file>]
DESCRIPTION
XMedCon is an X-Windows graphical userinterface built around the MedCon li‐
brary. The program is capable of reading grayscale (reconstructed) medical
image formats with multiple images and is based on the amazing Gtk+ and Im‐
lib libraries.
xmedcon_0.16.3+dfsg-1_dependencies.xzm has:
Code: Select all
