Fb Messenger for Linux

Fb Messenger for Linux.

This app is a stand alone app for Facebook Messenger.
found it while I was looking the same app for OS X, surprise was the release of the package for Linux too, which is great.
I converted the module so it can be used on Porteus.
Tested on Porteus Cinnamon. 3.2.2 and works fine 8)
hope this could be useful for some one else. I added a few screenshots of the app running.

here is the link. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing
Test it and let me know if it works for you! 8)

I am concern about what you said. and thank you for your reply.

In past years problem was the low security implementation of the API for Fb Messenger caused security problems as you said. but the way fb works today and I mean for desktop machines is trough the web app, that conects directly to the FB Messenger servers.
so if you try it what you will see is the same thing as if you were on your web browser on the fb messenger page.

Now I found this app the last year so its new, Never had a problem with it so I,ve used this app, and I trust the original developer.
you can check more info about it if you wish on https://messengerfordesktop.com/
there is more info about this app, the same I had posted here for OS X, Windows and Linux (a .deb file is provided for linux system, and also a .rpm file I think for suse systems).

so check it out, and give it a try!

the mal/adware concerns quoted above are related to mac/windows installers from the particular dotcom,
not the app itself.. or the .deb or .rpm
perhaps it might be better to source it from https://github.com/aluxian/Messenger-fo ... p/releases
or https://www.messengerfordesktop.org/ to avoid the guilt by association...

hahaha I know some skeptical people will say ¨I don't trust the app or the Dev Team¨, the thing is whatever you choose to do in this life has a risk, so It is up to you to test it, and try it.
if you don't care or don't trust on the app, then is your problem.
go to source as I did.

happy testing if you dare! 8)
