Do your wine modules contain the GecKoMono functions?

FWIW Many modules are named with the architecture they are designed for embedded in their names. Like these 64-bit mods:

Code: Select all

pepperflash-23.0.0.162-x86_64-1.xzm
VirtualBox-5.1.10-porteus-v3.2-x86_64-1prt.xzm
Wine1923-x86_64-1alien.xzm

1- yeah, it has, but it's downloaded per demand. In fact, this module is a direct conversion of this Slackware txz package.
2- you're right. I'm aware of this, but as I only use 64bits system and I'm posting inside 64bits section, I though it wasn't necessary. But I'll remember this and change it next time. Thanks :)

Interesting. Normally I only download wine modules that have it installed, I wasn't aware it could be dynamically add.

Using the sourceforge file naming convention for your module names would not be a bad idea.

If you want a newer version of the compat32-multilib, try here: http://bear.alienbase.nl/mirrors/slackware-live/bonus/
:good:

Note:
sxz file type is already a module. Only change the ending sxz to xzm to be able to use it a a porteus module.

Added a Note to fulalas post to explain the use of alien bob modules as porteus module by changing file type sxz to xzm.

Which of you have a functional wine installation under porteus 3.2.2? And under which desktop.

I would like to run ZEDTV a french application for windows:

@francois, I usually do somethings before creating the xzm module, like for example removing man, src and locale files. Also, if it's originally a deb package we should do more things before packing. And now I'm trying to follow the naming convention using appname-version-platform.xzm.

So you can't run this French program with the current Wine 2.2? Is this a 32 bits application? What exactly is the problem you are facing?

EDIT: Also, maybe you wanna try Wine Staging, which is the testing fork of Wine, containing lots of fixes and new features. They're currently on 2.4 version, but I have a 2.3 module: http://www.mediafire.com/file/lq6ecqdi9 ... x86_64.xzm

francois I run wine via the wine-1.9-x64-3.2-GeckoMono-1.xzm module. I was able to download
the zedtv file and install it to /home/guest/ZedTV which in turn downloaded vlc which I installed to /home/guest/vlc and right clicking on /home/guest/ZedTV/zedtv.exe and selecting open with Wine runs ZedTV 3.1.32 for me. I don't have any videos to test it further but it seems to be as functional as it can be considering where I live.

I realized that the compat32 was corrupted. That might explain what was wrong.

@Ed_P:
blaze wine-1.9.16-x64-3.2-GeckoMono version:
https://yadi.sk/d/5hkuB55N3DYhtq
works like a charm.
Thanks for the tip.

Concerning ZedTV, this is not a video player. This is a international webTV application which means that once the flux are received by the ZedTV program, which could take up to five minutes to appear on the interface. Then you can select an european channel like TF1, France2, France3, which will take some additonal time to be tuned automatically, the paired vlc windows application. I never achieved to get in tune a channel.

Finally, I found some other ways to connect to webTV in Europe.

The Wine thing, there is one other Method for working/playing with wine, it is to use PlayOnLinux, the Pro is that PlayOnLinux has an own Wine Version Management (32/64Bit), it downloads the Version of Wine you prefer by its own. Could be a simplified advantage ...

..you can find the Steam-Edition Version here ...

https://www.magentacloud.de/share/5o-zlpinv3

...the Dependencies are met for the Steam-Edition, so I think you have to add some compat Libraries to get it running on another Set of Modules ... 8)

..Keep in Mind that you need 32 and 64Bit Libraries for the whole Wine flavour.....!
