Trying to start kodi under the kde and xfce environment, I get additional missing dependencies and I do not see the end. :(

Hi blue4meridian,

I have tested in chrome and no login is require to download.
It is same like the few modules I have shared with you earlier.

@cttan:

Could you provide the specific dependencies in one additional module? Unless brokenman accepts to provide them all thru usm, including kodi. Or if not the dependencies only. This would be great.

Were you able to build kodi with sbo just like that or you had to install many dependencies?

I really think that the kodi package on porteus would be a great asset. We could have with the addition of the kodi module a multimedia installation on usb!!

Move yourself with your multimedia center in your pocket!! :Yahoo!:

Hi francois,

Pls download single module Kodi deps here:-
https://copy.com/9ZRuTy4YYV3rvfm8

You need to install the dependencies to compile using the Slackbuild Kodi script.
USM SBO getting errors:-

Code: Select all

# usm sbo -b kodi

Resolve dependency with USM
for example
in terminal as root

Code: Select all

root@porteus:/home/guest# usm -d /var/log/packages/kodi
press TAB to complete command
and enter
This command search and download the missing packages in /tmp/usm
convert the package in module and activate.

Hello! I am new to Porteus and this forum. I see this is an old thread but I was wondering if I can find some help getting Kodi to run on 3.1?
I have 10+ years of *nix experience and have tested Porteus in a VM extensively. However I am missing something about installing the media center and there does not seem to be any other useful information regarding Kodi in the forum.
Any chance of reviving this thread?

Welcome on porteus forum digitalmidge. :)

This thread is still good for porteus 3.1 which is current. Is there something that you do not understand? What have you done? Do you have the kde desktop?

Thanks for the response! I am using the KDE desktop although I would try another if I was able to get results.
What I did:
I used the usm -g to get the dependencies listed installing the first option listed for download. I download the 3 .xzm files.
I activate the samba, mysql and kodi files.
I get a Kodi icon in the menu but when I open it acts like it is loading and then nothing.

What am I missing?
Thank you very much for answering and any help you may be able to provide!
