If you don't have Telegram Desktop installed, it should offer you to use Telegram web-client I suppose. I have Telegram Desktop on my computers, so it opens up.

Is there a different souce other than Telegram?

Telegram is not for everyone, and is still not so popular for some reason. But it's there as an alternative and is good for cataloguing and storing all the xzms unrestricted in size and time (apparently!?)

however i noticed that the salix repository accessible from slapt-mod is one of the few that has the updated "nchat" text client for telegram and whatsap (web).
Is quite a bit lighter than the other clients.

Maybe because Telegram requires phone number to register, and not everyone wants to give it.

Ah, yes. That. Maybe because it's a messenger used on the smartphones... WhatsApp requires the phone number too. People are more forgiving to WhatsApp about that. Choosing between the two I prefer Telegram. These days I have to provide my phone number to a lot of services for secure login and authentication. I kind of wished I didn't have to though, but it's standard and I do need to identify myself, it's in my interests and no one else will have access to my phone. (Unless you're in a totalitarian or terrorist state where they can force you to unlock your phone and disclose all your logins). I made a Catalogue/Repository on Telegram when it became obvious that Porteus/X won't have a modules repository except this forum with links to random file sharing or clouds. I've personally used Telegram for a lot of my drag/drop sharing and storage so I thought I'd make that alternative and see if it's useful.

And it doesn't start at all after printing those error messages?! Then I think you should simply make your own vlc 3.0.20 xzm from the original ponce package. I just couldn't run mine under root so fixed it to run under root and got rid of those stupid "plugins cache" errors too by Now it works nice and clean for me (under root)

From the point of view of functionality, certainly telegram is better than whatsapp, without a shadow of a doubt.
however, the shift from platforms that allowed anonymity to platforms that prohibited it in my opinion enabled the achievement of control by leveraging convenience (which could be achieved anyway) and people's need for protagonism.
Now we stay on these platforms somewhat because of the coercion of exclusivity.
however I feel like reminding that messages on telegram messages are sent unencrypted and that encrypted messages were never implemented for the linux client.
Just because I like to be controversial, they are now pushing to make login keys something that "for security issues" is best saved in some device forgetting that a password is secure because only we know it and it cannot be extracted from our brains, while a device that contains the password can always be stolen.

My working patch for enabling vlc to run under root: And while having an old vlc still activated, we patch the plugins: Now deactivate and remove the old vlc module, and build the new module vlc-3.0.21-x86_64-1alien-rych.xzm

The size increased a lot: the plugins folder is 3 times larger than 3.0.20 one.
