Wicd in Ad-Hoc mode

Away from the city, my only chance to get connected to the IN was using my Android phone. There is an app named Barnacle Wi-Fi Tether that makes an Ad-Hoc modem out of the phone.
I tried it with Porteus and could not get the app to work. Fanthom's wireless tool also said it couldn't connect. It timed out.
Next I switched to Windows XP and it worked ok. Of course the fault is of wicd, not of Porteus.
Googling I found it, an issue of wicd. It has to do with IPv6. Wicd tries to connect first as IPv6, and when there is no response, it switches back to IPv4. This behavior works in Managed mode perfectly, but in Ad-Hoc mode the switching to IPv4 is not working properly.
We must look (or wait) for the solution -should come from the wicd team- to incorporate it to Porteus.
