clock time impossible to set

In the KDE panel, the time indicated by the clock does not change though I have set it according to the adequate time zone and though I have modified the clock time thru the adjust date and time clock device. What is there to do?

I have trie the solution found in this slax post:
http://www.slax.org/forum.php?action=vi ... ostid65067

It does not work.

Thus the time that appears in the panel is not the right time, though the adjust time and zone showing a clock with needles give the right time.

Any idea?

Thanks.

Did you checked your BIOS's Battery which it saves the clock, settings, etc.. ?

Couple of things i can offer (assuming you mean 32bit)

Check battery
Check bios settings to reset time

Make sure all is set correctly in locale & time zone

As root open terminal and run: /usr/bin/kcmshell kde-clock.desktop
Make sure all is good here and you are set to UTC

Run timeconfig twice

Are you dual booting?

You may also look at syncing to an online ntp.

@francois,

If I understand..your system doesn't save the clock even if your set it manually. The Clock is saved on Hardware Lock Part of your BIOS.
If your battery is not enough charged..this may make trouble with your clock settings.

Does your system save the clock settings after an hard reboot ?
Explanation :
  1. Shutdown your system
  2. Unplug your electricity cable
  3. Wait 15-20 seconds to make sure your capacitors are mostly empty
  4. Plug-in your electricity cable
  5. Start your system and check the clock directly in the BIOS using the F1 shortcut or DEL shortcut. This may change on some BIOS (Phoenix, etc..)
Ciao!
