Zoom linux: sound output problem

Post#1 by francois » 19 Mar 2020, 14:51

Is there anybody using Zoom as a more secure alternative to skype for linux. I have a sound problem.

Zoom is free for communications on a one to one basis.

Thanks.

I use the bundle that I have created for rc1, and have no problems with sound - bundle - Zoom for Porteus 5.0rc1

You are a pal. I will see if I do get rid of my sounds issues on zoom porteus.

Good to realize that there are a good number of bundles already.

Thanks jssouza.

Zoom linux: sound output problem

No resolution yet. Under porteus and on different linux boxes I will not have sound from the speaker or the headphones or on the linux box Asus FX502V and toshiba satelite Z930. With windows 10 the Asus box will provide the output audio from speakers.

Changing the sound card from alsamixer with F6, from default or pulse audio to HDA Intel PCH will make no difference.

Under zoom, before joining a meeting the option test audio is provided. Microphone is working well, but Click test speaker will provide no variation on the output level

Any suggestion appreciated. :)

Zoom linux: sound output problem

I have an invitation for a local Tai Chi webinar via zoom in approx 19 hours.

The issue: I never used zoom before. I presume there is no such thing as a zoom test environment where one could join a test group to see if all works as it should?
Cheers!
Yours Rava

Just start zoom. And select join. As soon as the Taichi webinar will be started, you will be online in video conference. If you want to test it with me just send your email address. I will send you an invitation and you will see how it works.

What kind do taichi do you practice: taichi tai or tai chi chen. Do you practice kung fu and push hands?

Have fun.
