i've made an irc chat channel on freenode #porteuslinux for anybody who is into that kind of thing.
i try to log in daily, so if you have some query or looking for help, grab your favourite chat client and stop by..

there are a few.. hexchat is what i'm using for now.. it's pretty straightforward

Any commands to get it to connect to #porteuslinux automatically when starting?

https://webchat.freenode.net/) works well too.
Enter your Porteus forum Nick name, #porteuslinux for Channel, check the reCAPTCHA box, click Start.

Oh, missed this one...
Actually IRC is a properly defined protocol.
Any client understanding/talking such protocol would be of course preferred...
One could think a client the equivalent of a ´app´.
Advertising the existence of a IRC channel is a recommendable initiative.
