Automatic connection to the wireless network

Post#16 by Kulle » 18 Nov 2019, 18:18

Hi ED_P
I tried everything, but no success!
After startup, the NetworkManager applet shows me all available wireless networks, and I need to manually connect to my WIFI.

Automatic connection to the wireless network

Sorry Kulle, we missed saving something.

If you boot with the changes option, sign on to your network, set it to be automatic, then shut down the system and have it save things to the changes' porteussave.dat file that should keep everything so rebooting with it should reconnect you to your wi-fi. Note, do not signoff of your network connection before shutting down.

If after that proves it works for you you can copy the whole porteussave.dat file to a module name and include it in your modules folder.

Automatic connection to the wireless network

Kulle, I booted AF mode, waited 5 minutes, connected to the wifi network, then displayed all the file changes made in the past minute.

Code: Select all

guest@porteus:~$ /mnt/sda6/porteus4.0/guestBU/changes.sh 1

We trust you have received the usual lecture from the local System
Administrator. It usually boils down to these three things:

#1) Respect the privacy of others.
    #2) Think before you type.
#3) With great power comes great responsibility.
