Old News: Windows Notepad does Unix/Mac now

Post#1 by nanZor » 01 May 2019, 02:51

I've been living under a rock I guess, but about a year or so ago, the ability for windows 10 Notepad to automatically recognize, read, and write both Unix and Mac text line ending properly has been implemented.

Turn on the status bar, and it will even show you.

Right - there's always been a million alternatives to do this, but having notepad do this by default now is kinda neat. Sure makes it easy to read the Porteus docs in a downloaded ISO image a lot easier for newbs..

I really don't fire up windows unless forced to, so was a bit surprised...
That's a UNIX book - cool. -Garth

That would be nice. I still have to use wordpad to be able to make sense of porteus documents. I have 2 PCs with Win10.
