Ok since we have been having these ssl problems. A lot of the links are not functional. The link to the forum at the top of this http://porteus.org/info/docs/45-other/1 ... ricks.html
not functional. Do we need to report stuff like this now or wait until it is resolved with the ssl problems?

I made the decision to generate a 2046bit SSL certificate today and wait until tonight when everyone is sleeping before i assign it to the site. SSL has been disabled until then. I believe the previous problem may have stemmed from using the 4096bit cert. Too may bits. Sorry for any inconvenience. After assigning the certificate tonight, i will go to bed and allow the global DNS some time to catchup, then reapply the SSL settings early in the morning.

An observation only.

On one computer using windows I am alerted that third party folks can view whatever I am doing. Even though the page is in https:// for secure. On another computer I can view the site with the http://porteus.org/forum/ page using Fedora/Slackware/ or live porteus cd.

Thanks to all for fixing the viewing troubles within windows :)

Hello,

It is not an issue. Only the login and register pages are on https (ssl support).

Nah... it's that Windows again.... :D

Things never seem to work with IE, anyway... :)

@agreimann,
I am sorry, but your comment is not about a bug on the forum.

Do not post a message about another subject.
E.g: You are posted a message about Windows..
And , the subject of this thread is the Forum's bugs only.
11. Keep on topic - If you are replying about something to do with iptables for example, and someone mentions a configuration tool that runs in KDE, don't start talking about KDE, stick to the topic. Go start a new topic and post a link to the old one if there is relevant information there.
I hope you understand this rule.

Sorry. I was merely trying to joke. :)

Staying on topic, I have not noticed one bug with the Porteus website.... so I'm not quite seeing where there's anything really serious outside of when Internet Explorer 8 or greater (yuck!) is used. Under Firefox (which runs on every *decent* system by default--e.g. Linux, openIndiana, etc.) and in Safari for Apples there's not any "compatibility mode" errors. I haven't looked at the site yet--have you tried turning on quirks mode in your code for IE 8 and 9? Also, I might add that you are in safe company if your site has bugs with the newer IEs--other websites I've visited I've had to toggle compatibility mode on. Maybe M$ will imitate Firefox to the point IE will function exactly the same! :D Fx *is* the better web browser. Anyway, I do apologize about going off track earlier.

I think this may be a spam bot of sorts I am sorry I couldn't figure out the reporting feature or even if we have one.
It is kinda obnoxious.

At times that happens when on the page you view there is an image displayed that is not hosted or linked via https:// but only via http://

A single non-standard emote like this one:
>> img linked image via http:// : Image <<
can already be the reason for such a warning.

The most recent Palemoon (V28.9.0.2 x86-64) displays it like so:

When the forum page has no such http:// images included Palemoon shows this:
