If it was fixed, how come I see it? I also see this when I wanted to check out the Development Threads for i486 and x86_64:
Do you want to view only the webpage content that was delivered securely?

This webpage contains content that will not be delivered using a secure HTTPS connection, which could compromise the security of the entire webpage

There is something that is not working correctly :>( Sorry! Hate to be a jerk and reply with this nonsense, but it is what it is.

@Hamza & all

Firefox 4.01 in FreeBSD :D and Firefox 3.17 :) from Fedora work perfectly fine. So it might be a problem with Bill's IE? :o

Other than that. Sorry for the noise. Might try out Opera in windblows to see if it too gives those errors?

Re: Forum bugs - security certificate revoked?

Post#82 by rnport » 21 May 2011, 01:21

Sometimes browser is showing a 'stop here' page saying that security certificate of this site (board index) has been revoked. At other times browser is giving a dialog box saying that this encrypted page has some unencrypted info and contents can be seen by third party. Does anything needs to be done ?

That's normal 'unecrypted' content. On the forum , there is some parts of the forum unencrypted (unnecessary to encrypt them).

Sometimes browser is showing a 'stop here' page saying that security certificate of this site (board index) has been revoked

Could you post more info with screenshot ?

It comes with google-chrome ver 7 when I try to access forum (main porteus.org page loads OK). Exact message is as follows:
----------------------------------------------------------
The server's security certificate is revoked!
You attempted to reach www.porteus.org, but the certificate that the server presented has been revoked by its issuer. This means that the security credentials the server presented absolutely should not be trusted. You may be communicating with an attacker. You should not proceed.
Help me understand
When you connect to a secure website, the server hosting that site presents your browser with something called a "certificate" to verify its identity. This certificate contains identity information, such as the address of the website, which is verified by a third party that your computer trusts. By checking that the address in the certificate matches the address of the website, it is possible to verify that you are securely communicating with the website you intended, and not a third party (such as an attacker on your network).

In this case, the certificate presented to your browser has been revoked by its issuer. This usually means that the integrity of this certificate has been compromised, and that the certificate should not be trusted. You absolutely should not proceed past this point.
-------------------------------------------

But I am able to access forum page with firefox ver 3.6.3

2) Go to https://forum.porteus.org (if you get an error , post it)
3) Go to https://www.porteus.org/forum (If you get an error , post it).

I tried with firefox and google-chrome under win7:

http: porteus.org, porteus.org/forum and forum.porteus.org - all load ok.

https: porteus.org loads with a cut-out https: sign in chrome, but page loads all right
https: porteus.org/forum loads ok (a green lock sign before https:)
https: forum.porteus.org "SSL connection error" in chrome and "Connection interrupted" in firefox; page does not load in either

I hope it helps.

I understand,

The URL Address for ssl support is http://porteus.org/forum , the certificate (for encryption of your infos) is works only on www.porteus.org , this is not a bug from your current machine. I try to install a certificate for forum.porteus.org

Now , if you want have the ssl support , you must use http://forum.porteus.org

There is a problem with the main page forum link. It works if you use http not the https. Maybe a temporary bug after logging in it gives me errors about security certificates. As long as I change it back to http instead of https, It allows me to use the forums.

http://porteus.org no errors
https://forum.porteus.org as follows
http://forum.porteus.org as follows
this is ie8 on xp home

Code: Select all

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

   What you can try:
It appears you are connected to the Internet, but you might want to try to reconnect to the Internet.

     Retype the address.

Go back to the previous page.

   Most likely causes:
•You are not connected to the Internet.
•The website is encountering problems.
•There might be a typing error in the address.

after submitting a post I get this

Code: Select all

There is a problem with this website's security certificate.

The security certificate presented by this website was issued for a different website's address.

Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept any data you send to the server.
We recommend that you close this webpage and do not continue to this website.
Click here to close this webpage.
Continue to this website (not recommended).
     More information

If you arrived at this page by clicking a link, check the website address in the address bar to be sure that it is the address you were expecting.
When going to a website with an address such as https://example.com, try adding the 'www' to the address, https://www.example.com.
If you choose to ignore this error and continue, do not enter private information into the website.

For more information, see "Certificate Errors" in Internet Explorer Help.

Sorry guys... I got to go. My girlfriend just casted "get your dirty ass into the shower" on me.
Oh and here is some naked grandpa pictures too.

Yeah, I got an error from firefox when I opened it in porteus just now:

Code: Select all

This Connection is Untrusted

You have asked Firefox to connect securely to forum.porteus.org, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.

Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.

What Should I Do?

If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.

Get me out of here!
