One way to get FOSS apps for Android is to use Fdroid

https://f-droid.org/

From there you can choose many ones. I like termux

https://termux.com/

And after installing it, one can get many packages. I have successfully installed clang and can build programs on the phone. It(phone) can do many things. I can run scripts on the phone, run gnuplot, imagemagick, ghostscript, mpv, ..., etc. If you have plenty of space you can install texlive and typeset beautiful mathematics books :)

And

If you are short on space and memory kertex comes to the rescue and you can also run it on your android phone please see

http://www.kergis.com/en/kertex.html

for details. The author of kertex was very helpful and guided me to install it on my mom's phone. It is great to have many tools available maybe you can find something that is useful :)
