systemd
if you like it use it, if you don't then do not use it.

If you like backdoors + NSA, then use SystemD based Distro.
Else
use a "systemd free" version of linux or a BSD :)

hi blaze no xfce4 and i have installed but not use it plasma
ps:i use arch on a sd so the environment for backdoor&co is a bit small, but you are right.. for this purpose we are using porteus slackware and current.

BTW, There is a systemd free distro that has gnome 3.22 and now 3.24. You may check it out, it uses alternate patches that enable one to run gnome without systemd. I'm surprised that slackware folks who like gnome have not seen that it can be done, as an alternative to Dlackware. The distro is voidlinux. Check it out if you like. They use alternate startup scripts called runit.
Also, I do not know if the LPTB (Linux powers that be) have pushed pulseaudio and now most of the linuxes out rhere have it, and now systemd will also rule the world! One init system, like the one world government. Resistance is futile you will be assimilated :(

@Tonio

Thanks for the info on VoidLinux , I'll try it sometime.

@ Blaze.

Apart from trying Alien Bobs Gnome desktop yesterday i'm not running SytemD , only Porteus Cinnamon so i can't give an output.

I was just giving my opinion from recently trying out different Distros and wondered how people feel about it now in 2017.

SystemD - 2017?

It is a little difficult to introduce & adjust Systemd into the Porteus framework.
An essential problem is that Systemd is not fit well with live system like Porteus.
It is fit well with installed system.
At shutdown/reboot, it will unmount all mounted file systems even if those are the self running space.
And then, some unmounts resulte in fault.

I have adjusted this issue on APorteus that is constructed with ArchLinux packages and use Systemd.
Please refer to ArchLinux packages manager for Porteus (Post by neko #59631)

Thanks.

Tomas Matejicek has found workaround, see: http://www.slax.org/en/blog/24229-Clean ... stemd.html

Thank you very much for the information on "systemd & live-system".
I will study it.

Thanks.
