Yes, renaming the topic would be the best solution to avoid confusions :)

Most critical feature will always be small footprint, as brokenman explained 8)

I imagine that some of you must have received an email from Tomas:
http://www.slax.org/en/blog/22759-Inter ... uthor.html

It is interesting to realize how some problems that continue to be endogenous to slax are not at all some issues for porteus. 8)

Tomas wants to leave kde which would be too much troublesome. In addition, xfce would not be a pretender, too old or archaic, some say. The modules concept is still causing some difficulties. Tomas did not yet accept the help of collaborators. Debian would not be a possibility, as He has sold the slax-debian concept to an enterprise, and for some reason he is not as hot to pursue debian (whatever the reason).

Maybe we should participate to the debate.

Everything he mentioned in the interview is solved in Porteus. Fanthom has everything running smoothly and fast. Not sure what the problem is. Perhaps a one man army is a bad concept. Interesting he is talking about moving the base. ;)

Hum!
Tomas plans do not seem to surprise many people.

Once and a while, I have a look at tomas blog:
http://www.tomas-m.com/blog/22880-Intro ... ommentsnew

No new comments for a year. And guess what, the last he left were about to moving to another distribution as base (arch or ubuntu). Papyros would be the desktop.

Were we unconciously stealing Tomas ideas? 8)

Slax comes back to life?
To be honest I didn't decide yet if I want to switch. The problem with Slackware is that there is no way to get extra software easily. I am considering Debian and Gentoo at the moment.

It seems that some of us came out with the same conclusion.
