Me thinks, kodi only makes sense when having a PC that supports a remote control that both controls the PC (and kodi), but also the Tv and surround sound?
Cheers!

My phone has both infrared control and the Kodi app- Kore.
Behold.. the remote of the future that can never be lost as it is just a call away...

Also just found this for setting up my Logitech Harmony remote (seems to map buttons to keystrokes and requires infrared sensor)

I presume most smartphones (the android version ones) not have intrared? At least I never heard of that feature...

Samsung phones and tablets have the simple led to make it work. I am not sure about most other phones. I do not understand why it isn't standard in a phone/tablet.
