While I'm not an active OpenBSD user, I do love the creativity of their release songs!

A few releases back, I went to the club and heard this when Ver 6.8 came out:

Get your dance groove on in either OGG or Mp3.. Even great with headphones. Guaranteed to make your friends think you are nuts. :)
That's a UNIX book - cool. -Garth

 First time I've heard that a linux distro releases its releases accompanied by songs.

Today I started to feel pinkish but then got the blue, so... Henry Mancini - Jazz@Mancini (Full Album)

Indeed (but BSD is not Linux) but it is neat to look up all these free and open software hymns. :D

Also, listening to this:

Men Without Hats/1984 - Folk Of The 80's (Part III)/09 - I Sing Last Not For Tears
"We been told lies, we've been herded around…"

In my book, the really great albums Men Without Hats made are
- Rhythm Of Youth
- Folk Of The 80's (Part III)

Added in 35 minutes 17 seconds:
- playing these files ffplay complains

Code: Select all

[swscaler @ 0x………] deprecated pixel format used, make sure you did set range correctly
but still displays the images.

And I realized again how a small change makes for an engaging song:

Like their "I Got The Message" (from "Rhythm Of Youth")

First he sings in English
Then he sings in English, and she sings background in English
Then he sings in French and she sings background in English
and both switch to English.

In the next song "Cocoricci (Le Tango Des Voleurs)" the roles are switched, he keeps singing English, she sings English, switches to French and back to English.

Especially the effect of that seemingly simple arrangement to the listener in "I Got The Message" is amazing.

What really helps is that both speak/sing good in English and in French. :D
Cheers!

Azur Lane 2nd Anniversary Music Video - "What You're Made Of ft. Kiesza" by Lindsey Stirling
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6Zd1DjDa5I
found it via https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/ ... c/AzurLane
From the second anniversary comes this beautiful piece. Sung by Kiesza, with violin music from Lindsey Stirling and artworks by the famed Dishwasher1910, it not only comforts the listener but urges them to continue onward to greatness, seemingly the last words of Yorktown to Enterprise when the former sank at the fateful Battle of Midway.

Capella Antiqua Bambergensis - Heitere Musik aus alten Zeiten ("Cheerful music from the olden days")
Capella Antiqua Bambergensis on de.wikipedia (use deepl for translation if needed)
Pass'e mezzo
Alta Danza
Courante I
Canzon La Battera
Cantigas de Santa Maria that one's really giving the medieval / olden days vibe. <B
Now is the month of maying
Tedesca that one's also giving the medieval / olden days vibe.

and the rest of the CDDA via self-made mp3's.

Added in 10 minutes 22 seconds:
What I really like is with Capella Antiqua Bambergensis - they not speed up most of their music like many who interpret classical or baroque music do which more or less kills the mood of the pieces.

Concierto de Aranjuez by Joaquin Rodrigo (played by Mak Grgic)

The concierto has its own wikipedia entry: Concierto de Aranjuez :) where it says
The second movement in B minor, the best-known of the three, is marked by its slow pace and quiet melody, introduced by the cor anglais, with a soft accompaniment by the classical guitar and strings.

All are more loud rock songs than relaxing stuff, no wonder you stay awake for so long. :D

(I did sleep for approx 5 hours this night, I am just awake very early)

I love listening to Konrad Ragossnig - to me the most contemplating music can get is e.g. his 1975: Musik für Laute (6-LP set) Reissued as: 2004 Renaissance Lute Music (4-CD set) :)
