Src2pkg?

Post#1 by fullmoonremix » 26 Feb 2016, 20:52

Salutations... :good:

Src2pkg appears dormant... with no new posts by the author for the last 2 years both on this forum or the websites ftp.
I've had difficulty compiling so I'm trying to obtain the old 3.0 rc1 05-devel.xzm which includes src2pkg.

The primary bottleneck appears to be src2pkg setup which installs deprecated "helper" binaries.

Best Regards...

There is a noarch slackware package available right on the website. No need to compile.

Salutations... :good:

I'm not having difficulty compiling src2pkg... I'm having difficulty compiling 'with' src2pkg... :wall:
The (current?) src2pkg "helper" binaries are deprecated so an older 05-devel.xzm is required that includes src2pkg.

Oh, I see. In that case you can get it in the archive folder on our server.

Salutations... :good:

Actually... you really don't need the old 05-devel.xzm (3.0) to use src2pkg.
Unfortunately... you need the old one to build "src2pkg-helpers" to use with the new one.

After running src2pkg --setup... (w/ the old 05-devel.xzm) the "src2pkg-helpers" *.tgz can be located @...
/usr/src/src2pkg/src2pkg-helpers/src2pkg-helpers-1.6-x86_64-1.tgz

I guess it's time for a tutorial... :unknown:
