INIT script changes

What is the difference between the INIT script in Porteus 3.0.1 and Porteus 3.1?
I'm doing strange experiments combining elements from Porteus (the kernel, the initrd, and the kernel module) with a Debian Wheezy core module.
If I use these elements from the Porteus 3.1 version, networks does not work on porteus wheezy (but it works with Porteus Jessie if I change systemd with SysVInit)
I was wondering if were made big changes in the INIT script of initrd.xz of Porteus 3.1...
Does porteus use SysVInit as init system?
