Thanks for posting. Brings back memories for me:

Tie dye and flouro
Roller skates
G-force cartoons
Ghost busters on the C64
20 min tape loaded games
Karate Kid
The A-Team
Dungeons & Dragons
Break dancing
Single fin surfboards
Skateboards were for transport, and the deck was wooden.

Hmm interesting stuff. My first was a cnc in 1980 it loaded up with a paper spool, you could tweak the machines settings with the KB and a small crt once the program was loaded. That was the terminal, the machine box was like 5 feet by 3 feet loaded with pcb's.

Mine was a Z-80 based 64kb RAM machine having three 8" Floppy drives in 1984; the third one was used as a scratch/swap disk while sorting large data files. We used Business BASIC and Cobol compilers for programming apps. Operating system was USIS 2.0 kind of an earlier CPM/MS-DOS ;)

I wish I remember the PC specification when I first started to learn things about computers, what I remember from that is:
Using Floppy disks 5-1/4", then 3-1/2" floppy disks came around with larger storage capacity
Learned MS-Dos and its common programs: Edit, Clear, More, CLS, CD, Format, Copy, Fdisk, edited autoexec.bat and config.sys

Then, I think my first computer I called it a Clone: No specific brand name parts, just the CPU with an AMD processor. I think it was a 386 with Floppy disks 5-1/4" and 3-1/2" Windows 3.1, VGA display.

Next it was a 486 system still a Clone and upgraded software to Windows 95 > Windows 98 > Windows XP

Really enjoyed, learning about installing and uninstalling software and hardware, upgrading the system with Sound Cards, CD-Rom drives, Additional hard disk drives, Ram memory modules, battery, etc.

Then the laptops came and I started to use brand name products: Toshiba, Lenovo, HP, Everex Step Note NC1510 that is still alive. I got one Toshiba laptop stolen, and two burned down due to much use a Toshiba and an HP =@

Nowadays, I'm using a Dell Workstation I found on eBay and it's wonderful for my needs. Before getting into the workstation, I tried a tower system with Windows 8 on it. I said to that ewww, I don't like it and returned to the retail store.

Played some games on 286/NEC386 machine and some Logo programming on Apple(I am not too sure) machine during my primary school.

The very first one that I owned is a Pentium 60MHz desktop using DOS and Win 3.11 in 1994.
Tried installing Win95 and Slackware onto it using multiple diskettes.

My first computer was Jimbo's older brother, the Sinclair ZX-80. In all it's clunky glory. Used a cassette tape as storage and had an entire 1k of ram. I think I still have it in a box somewhere.
