@rava:

I am interested to pitivi too. If you want I can share some video files so that we can work on them with pitivi. I have built pitivi with usm which included the necessary dependencies except for the codecs.

Here is a file:

Others are to come.

Is it still there? I only see an empty listing...

Anyhow, you can download youtube clips by using http://www.clipconverter.cc/
That site lets you choose which available quality you can download, and even gives the estimated size.
The best thing, when a clip is not available, e,g, you are in Germany and youtube blames GEMA for not giving you the clip, it still would work as download using http://www.clipconverter.cc/ :D
Cheers!

@ Rava
when you are on the youtube site to watch a video, you will see the video address
in the FF address-bar
now simply type "ss" in front of youtube
e.g. "https://www.ssyoutube.com/watch?v=_pqC563bX_w"
(hit enter) to download it for free.

Now, that's neat, did not know that. Thanks!

Anyhow, do you know a similar URL hack instead of http://www.listentoyoutube.com/ aka "YouTube to MP3 Converter" ?
Cheers!

Thanks for the trick donald. :)

Rava are you still in need of the clip up there. Whatever the case, try to look if this link works better.

Thanks Donald. Had no idea about the ss prefix. You saved my wife (and in turn me) a lot of trouble. If you have any more youtube/google tricks I would love to see a thread on it.

Even worse:
http://oi61.tinypic.com/2u9338g.jpg (Not meaning the gal, of course, but that it looks like the generic start page with self-ads instead of a download listing page)

And this is what the link from the above post looks like: http://oi57.tinypic.com/e9zo5u.jpg

Could be the same issue with another page, that my palemoon is set to not use any save container (or what it is called, something like so), some very few pages seem to need that... :bad:
Cheers!

Funny results that you get.

I think that the previous link is the functional one:

Maybe someone else could confirm that.

Most screen recording apps use ffmpeg as a backend. This is my go to for screen recording. If you know how to use it you have FULL control of your recording.

Slow motion to analyse Shotokan kata? Sounds like a winner... :good:

pitivi under porteus seems to work well.

Kino from usm misses some libraries. The good news is that it could be built easily from:

Code: Select all

usm sbo -s kino
