Connect to Windows 7 network

Post#1 by jameys22 » 22 Feb 2011, 06:09

I am new to any version of linux and have no clue how to connect it to my Windows 7 wireless network at home. Is such a thing possible?

Thanks!

try the porteus network setup tool. Open a console (shown in KDE as konsole), and type 'pns-tool' without the quotes. This will walk you through connecting to your wireless network. You'll need to know the name of your network, the type of security (none, WEP or WPA), and the password. Your wireless device should be 'wlan0' or something similar.
Please take a look at our online documentation, here. Suggestions are welcome!

Moved from "HOWTO's & Resources" to "General Chat" as it's not a tutorial.
Please add [Solved] to your thread title if the solution was found.
