Question 1: How I can disable the screen save (black screen) on Porteus XFCE? I tried some ways and no success.

Question 2: is possible to make shell script to do the computer goes into hibernation and back on a scheduled time automatically? How? (Can be some tutorial or article).

Question 3: Can the Linux power on a monitor/tv? How? (Can be some tutorial or article).

thanks in advance. All tips and answers will be welcome.

go to settings manager > power manager > On ac (or battery or both) > then slide the bar to never and click the monitor tab and slide them back to never.

This does not work alone, I had to use the command: xset s off. Thank.

AFAIK systemd has native support for this.


Q3: That would depend the nature of the external device, brand. In principle, it's a simple video beep your box kicks out to the other device, which that device can understand and process accordingly. Would be helpful to know, what you are trying to achieve. I would probably have a look into some media center apps. They re supposed to take care of that sort of gimmick.
The hang of it is very sharp and I can not use crontab. But with your hint I found the APM, it you could set the time in suspend and resume the computer, but he is accusing the kernel does not support.
Note: Using Porteu 3 x86.
I already imagined that the Q3 would have that answer, but thanks anyway.
