Christmas wishes for Porteus-3.0

Post#1 by fanthom » 10 Nov 2013, 21:06

As you probably know Porteus-3.0 is approaching (Slackware-14.1 was released few days ago) and it's also Christmas time so if you have any special wish regarding new release please post it here.
It could be anything (ofc request like 'please change KDE4 maintainer' will be rejected) so please tell us what would you like to change/improve/add/remove in the the next release.

Thanks guys.
Please add [Solved] to your thread title if the solution was found.

For sure fanthom has this already for 3.0! You just are being indiscret! :x

My question is: what do we make with our old machines??
Of course, there will be a cheatcode, UEFI=ON, for the new machines.

Regards!
Porteus is proud of the FASTEST KDE ever made.....(take akonadi, nepomuk and soprano out and you will have a decent OS).

Of course, there will be a cheatcode, UEFI=ON, for the new machines.
It's not going to be that easy unfortunately. While the required options will be built into the kernel, the layout of files in the ISO needs to change for UEFI. At this early stage of UEFI it is probably best to continue as normal and just have a separate forum thread for setting up UEFI on individual machines..

@brokenman

Could you please include SSL capability in claws mail client in MATE?
I've been a Claws Mail user for many years, and use Porteus for all online tasks except mail, because of lack of a secure email server connection for my favorite email client.

Thanks, Merry Christmas and keep the good work up! :Yahoo!:

Very few changes on the basic system and the accompanying options. A better offer of packages on PPM.
