Porteus dropping dangerously on the distrowatch ranking statistic: we are classified 93 rd in the last month.

However, as usual the event of a new release should help us to get back on the top list. We have to take some dispositions to keep the affluence and the membership.

I checked the other day and we were number 54 on distrowatch. This is good. Today we are number 58. This is still good.

Maybe we give could away free beer and a lapdance from Ahau for all new Porteus users? That might bring more publicity.

I don't believe Distro Watch too much they only count downloads from their site, do you have any server statistics for downloads from your server ? , do they match Distro Watch?

Nice. Interesting that they put slackware in the list of newbie friendly distro's. I'm surprised.

Not only you, buddy, not only you! :D

It also lists "20. ZevenOS", that one intrigued by just by it's name. But its description even more so:
Which are particular objectives of ZevenOS?

The ZevenOS project was founded in order to preserve some of the extraordinary features of the formerly wellknown BeOS operating system. All that realized within a linux operating system. Therefore ZevenOS is a pure linux system, designed to induce as far as possible the „feeling“ of the good old BeOS and its successor ZETA. ZevenOS is very user friendly and an excellent choice for multimedia performance.

Essential features are:

BeOS-„Touch“
Speed
Suitability for older computers
Easy handlig for users (like the good old BeOS)
Especially designed for multimedia
Now I want a Porteus variant that emulates / copies ZevenOS touch, feel and all that jazz... :)
