@ncmprhnsbl, thanks!
Highlights of the video:
1- people in the real-time comments seem to like Porteus in general
2- the video guy loves the browser update/install GUI
3- a guy in the real-time comments said he loves the Openbox version
Unfurtunately the video guy thought there was limitations because he was running a live session inside a VBox machine. Oh, god...! Porteus is a live distro! No word about it, no word about the unbelievable ISO size, performance, RAM consumption, etc.
This is not the first time I see people that don't know what Porteus is all about. They see it as yet another Linux distro

Trying out ver 4.0 of the XFCE flavor, and am impressed with its speed, and selection of apps. Have not yet gotten into any major software additions outside of picking a browser (Palemoon), so will be honest that I can not really comment on the Slackware core implementaion, just the XFCE implementation and overall impression of the project. Modules work great (just like I remember Slax from years back).

Sounds like we could use that quote for Wikipedia. Or are there better suited ones for 4.0?fulalas wrote: ↑04 May 2018, 07:57Trying out ver 4.0 of the XFCE flavor, and am impressed with its speed, and selection of apps. Aside from the horrible typos in the quoted Part. Sadly these makes it unsuitable for the use on Wikipedia. Hopefully the Review Author corrected the typos.
Edit it is not a review as I thought just a user comment. Not usable for Wikipedia.
The next User comment is a Bad one. On Android I cannot Quote it since I cannot select Text from a non edit field. .. I mean the one complaining about the bad installer. He/She should join the Forums and give us more Info about the issue.

Anyhow just looked through this
List of Linux distributions that run from RAM
RAM needed only says 512 MB.
I think that needs to bei changed to a from-to Form like they did with Independent.
Does anyone have a quotable forum post that lists the toram needed RAM for every available Version for 4.0?
Then I could change the Wikipedia article into a MinimumRAM - maximumRAM Info.

@Rava, it's hard to say the minimum to run the system, since it will depend of the use -- a browser, for instance, can take 1 GB of RAM pretty easily. Here are the measurements of the after-boot:
***Cinnamon x64***
RAM: 437 MB
***KDE x64***
RAM: 410 MB
***LXDE x64***
RAM: 209 MB
***LXQt x64***
RAM: 253 MB
***MATE x64***
RAM: 302 MB
***Openbox x64***
RAM: 146 MB
***Xfce x64***
RAM: 253 MB

I doubt it. Part of this memory consumption is Porteus itself (regardless of the DE). So less than, I guess, 120 MB is not possible even booting into text mode with no DE module loaded.

So, in from - to (or minimum RAM - maximum RAM) we have, for x86-64:
RAM: 146 MB (Openbox x64) - 437 MB (Cinnamon x64)
Do you also have the numbers for i586 versions?
Cheers!

does Jay have these?
Update
He wrote me an PM telling me to use Virtual Box. So seems he not has the sizes.
I presume just checking openbox i586 should give us the smallest MB size.
Cheers!
