Hi... I think the right menu should be smaller, and forum area should be bigger, but i can't find in the code where to alter this. May have to switch styles if i can't figure it out.

I found the free porn site offered by fanthom in his plan to take over the word (announcement section) quite sexy. Everyone should have a look at it:
http://www.porteus.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=29

Jokes aside, even if it is only partly true, let me write that this is a great experience to share: the birth of a new OS.

Congratulations.

Hello, all!

Glad to be here, too. I love the remix distro and look forward to testing or otherwise helping!

My hope is that this forum will display properly on my blackberry :)
Please take a look at our online documentation, here. Suggestions are welcome!

Hi.
Well, I'm here too, hoping I'll find the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything (42 not accepted) :D .
Maybe I'll also provide some answer on basic questions, depending on the general level of questions, who knows...

Hi all, happy to join you all here. Slax style architecture is clearly a wave of the future and I'm glad to be here and hopefully will be able to contribute to the utility of this project.

I'm glad this project has been moved to its own site, we all love Slax but the prodigal daughter is her own being, so it's good to be able to create a real thing here without overwhelming our other friends.

cheers,
sam

Hi to all, same old Rava from the Slax forum (and some few other Linux ones as well...) :D

Finally, after my weeks with an really old and slow notebook checking out Puppy Quirky NOP.... me is back with more powerful machines that can run Slax ... or Porteus with an Okay speed.

And I will try to put more effort into bringing XFCe back to the table... :Yahoo!:
Cheers!
Yours Rava

Old-Timer here; pleased that the SLAX-remix project lives on as Distro in its own right.
Highly valued SLAX, but it has become too old, unmaintained, and insecure.

Porteus is a Great choice of name. Because my goal is to move entirely to Virtualized
Desktops so I may use any PC ( even one I don't own, by permission ) and quickly
restart a trusted, stable host OS with a lightweight Virtual Machine Manager.

Last time I travelled the world, visiting friends, family and businesses: all I needed to
carry around was a small format CD with SLAX, and my customization script and files
on a small USB drive. Much lighter than even a notebook! Borrow or hire the Hardware;
its more disposable than a carefully crafted working environment that you are most
productive with!

Anyone else here moving to a Virtualized Desktop living in the same way?
If so - I'd like to contribute towards an appropriate section of the forum where
we can put Porteus testing (32+64bit) + VirtualBox through its paces!
