Hi Everyone!

Per our announcement here: http://forum.porteus.org/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=1659

We have a new look for our website! Please check it out and report any issues here; we'll work to resolve broken links, etc., as quickly as we can.

Thanks!

Greetings Mighty Ahau,

I like the new look of the site. Hamza did an awesome job on it. All the links worked for me and maybe it's my imagination, but it seems a little faster.
When are we getting t-shirts? 8) , cheers to Hamza.

Hi Looks good, and good reports on your distribution, however I'm getting a 404 on all the links to download an iso.
Can you point me to the right link?
Thanks
K

Hmmm ... 3 minute response time from Hamza to fix broken links. Who else thinks he is a bot sent back from the future designed to code php for Porteus? :Bravo:

Personally i hate the new site because it's better, faster and stronger than the older one i hacked together. Seriously ... great job Hamza.

Looks good to me....
as mentioned elsewhere, could possibly benefit from a little more contrast...
i notice also, theres no longer any access to the module repo.....my guess is, this is to encourage use of the PPM?

something like that :)
but i was a bit more pushy when explaining it to Hamza just yesterday.
let me quote:
users MUST use PPM if they want to get additional software.
because
if people start grabbing modules directly from the server we will
end up with endless complains about unresolved deps.
so yes - PPM is the way to go. no more standalone modules on the website - time to move forward.

Never published my one expect 20 seconds on mchat and there were only fanthom and beny logged in and after I have locked down the link.
but i was a bit more pushy when explaining it to Hamza just yesterday.
As usual

My own was never published at public access with public link on main website. It was not my own. Do you have any links? screenshot? Title?

@fanthom... fair enough, i must admit i'm guilty of that...well aware of dependency issues, at least :)
i liked to read the changelogs tho....
perhaps a official repo module list somewhere (in the forum maybe)

@hamza
i'm not sure we are talking about the same thing. :pardon:

heres something (sort of related)
...if you click on the big "download it" icon on the front page... you are taken to the download howto..
no problem.. read to where it says :

"To download the ISO of your choice you can click on one of the links above,
or hover over the Download Tab on the top of the page at www.porteus.org and click on either 'Porteus 32bit' or 'Porteus 64bit'.
Look inside the 'current' folder for the latest ISO file."

..this is no longer the case, should say something like:

To download the ISO of your choice you can click on one of the links above,
or click the Download Tab on the top of the page at www.porteus.org to go to the downsload page.
Click on either 'Porteus 32bit' or 'Porteus 64bit'. You may choose either the "Standard Edition" which includes LXDE
and KDE (KDE4 in 64-bit and Trinity in 32-bit)
or the "XFCE" edition, which includes the XFCE desktop environment."

similarly the picture to the right of this text is no longer relevant(which btw is a clickable dead link)
