Porteus on i686 architecture

Post#1 by benjibasson » 09 Aug 2024, 11:01

Hi, I have learned that asus t100t tablets is 32 bits instead of X86_64 although its os is windows8
=> To run Linux we have to download and copy magic stiks on the usb drive with dual boot between Ubuntu i686 and android.
=> I would like to add Porteus v4 32 bits: what am I suppose to choose? I486 or i586?

Cheers

I would recommend Porteus v5.01's i586 system.

If you are set on a v4 version click on the link's Parent directory link.

For Porteus v4 32-bit on your Asus T100T tablet, I'd recommend choosing i586. It's a safer bet for compatibility with your hardware and more common for 32-bit systems.

Thanks for the advice, Ed_P and Mel1974! i586 seems like a good choice for compatibility and hardware support.
