If you are running Mate and have a problem with Root Terminal you might need these.

Code: Select all

gksu-2.0.2-x86_64-1salix15.0.txz
lib64glib1.2-1.2.10-20pclos2015.x86_64.rpm
lib64gtk+1.2-1.2.10-51pclos2019.x86_64.rpm
GConf-3.2.6-x86_64-7.txz
gtk+2-2.24.33-x86_64-2.txz
libgnome-keyring-3.12.0-x86_64-4.txz
I found out mind didn't work.
I just like Slackware because I think it teach you about Linux to build packages where Ubuntu is like Windows you just install programs you want.

I do not have that problem with Porteus 5.0's Cinnamon system.

Code: Select all

guest@porteus:~$ su
Password:
root@porteus:/home/guest#
What version of Mate are you running? And what problem are you seeing? :%)

Porteus 5.01 Mate version that I downloaded posted on the forum Mate version 1.26.0. It was missing dependencies.

What problem requires the extra modules? What are you doing in root? :unknown:

Root Terminal

It was in the Menu and I wanted it to work. If anything in Menu or anything else I want them to work. That what make Porteus and Nemesis a great distro.

i very much doubt anyone would need any of those.
testing mate here, and menu>system>"Super User Mode Terminal" works exactly as expected.
any breakage would be something that's been done post install.

Why was Root Terminal in the Menu anyway?
